Photoelectric Effect
“I think I can safely say that nobody understands Quantum Mechanic.” – Richard Feynman.
What is Photoelectric Effect?
When a ray of
light (of finite value of frequency or frequencies) incidence on a
photosensitive metal ( Na, K, Cs etc. ) sheet , then electron emanate from the
sheet. T phenomena of emission of electron from such a metal sheet is
called Photoelectric Effect or Photoelectricity.
called Photoelectric Effect or Photoelectricity.
Fig.1 - Photoelectron emission
Photoemission characteristics:
1.
The number of photoelectron emitted per sec that
is photoelectric current is proportional to the intensity of the incident light
but is independent of the frequency of it.
3. For a given metallic sheet the emission of
photoelectron take place only if the frequency of light is greater than a
definite value called threshold frequency.
4.
The time take to
taken by the photoelectron to emits is in the order of few milli sec which is very very small to our sense.

Its very compact and complete content about it.... It will be helpfull if u post the reason for accepting quantum concept and reject e.m theory.... The download option is amazing... Keep it up...
Thanks for your precious comment.. I have already give a post about the failure of e.m theory hare http://physicssnotes.blogspot.in/2015/02/of-electromagnetic-wave-theoryto.html ...
